If sustainability professional development and training opportunities for staff are made available or supported, provide at least one of the following:
Resource Recovery hosts trainings to create zero-waste workplaces and offices around campus. Trainings are open to both students and staff. Trainings include “Compost Training for Event Planners,” “Breakroom Compost Training,” and “Zero Waste Workplace Overview Info Sessions.” These trainings are offered at least once a month, sometimes more, via Zoom.
Resource Recovery and the Office of Sustainability also offer zero waste and sustainability presentations for offices, classes, floors, or groups. The zero waste presentations provide zero waste resources, recycling and composting guidance, and posters/materials for the office. Sustainability presentations offer resources, ways to get involved, and teaching about what sustainability is and why it matters.
Green Labs is a resource to help UT Austin faculty, staff, and student researchers run more environmentally friendly labs without sacrificing the integrity of their work. They strive to increase the sustainability of labs on campus by assisting researchers in minimizing waste, reducing water and energy use, and utilizing the concepts of Green Chemistry. Green Labs also focuses on student researcher education to help foster the next generation of sustainably-minded researchers and prepare students to enter a competitive workforce.

USGBC LEED GA prep and exam fees can be reimbursed for staff in project management roles. Additionally, UT staff have access to LinkedIn Learning which includes courses and trainings in sustainability topics.
