Community-based learning (service-learning) is included in the university's Tenure and Promotion guidelines, meaning that faculty engaged in this pedagogy may seek credit during their tenure review.
Employees at the university are able to participate in State Employee Charitable Campaign, which enables them to make monetary contributions to over 500 charitable organizations in the state. Employees and employees who are Texas Exes also participate in The Project. All employees have access to the volunteer database at the university.
