Increases in the severity and frequency of local flooding in the last decade, and the success of the SITES Gold landscape of the Dell Medical District, have caused UT Austin to develop a comprehensive approach to stormwater management.

UT Austin is expanding stormwater pollution control standards and strategies during construction into a campus-wide approach to stormwater management, which includes incorporating cisterns and bioswales and other LID strategies.
