Documentation
Do the figures reported above cover one, two, or three academic years?:
Three
A brief description of the methodology used to complete the course inventory :
Review covers all courses offered during the three most recent completed academic years. Courses were excluded as allowed by STARS. Courses with titles or descriptions suggesting a sustainability element (focused or included) were identified and reviewed to ensure sustainability content in the syllabi. A notable change in methodology from 2018 STARS submission: the total number of academic departments was drawn from those actually offering courses (instead of from a different data source than the course catalog) which reduced the total number of departments; and departments were excluded if all of their courses were excluded per STARS criteria.
How were courses with multiple offerings or sections counted for the figures reported above?:
Each offering or section of a course was counted as an individual course

Data source(s) and notes about the submission:
Of the 107 academic departments offering courses, 28 only offered courses that are “excluded” from the STARS calculations, therefore those departments were excluded. Of the 79 remaining academic departments, 63 offer at least one sustainability inclusive or focused course over the last three academic years.
