Does the institution host a food bank, pantry, or equivalent resource focused on alleviating food insecurity, hunger and poverty among students?:
Yes

A brief description of the food bank, pantry, or equivalent resource:

UTA has two food pantries that are on or right by campus.

The UTA Maverick Pantry is housed within the UTA Division of Student Affairs. It is a free pantry open to students, faculty, and staff where UTA community members can get quality food and toiletry items, professional development clothing, and cap and gown rental services.

They stand on the pillars of education, advocacy, and support:
Education
Promotes education and increases awareness of food insecurity to the campus community.

Advocacy
Advocates for those affected by food insecurity through campus–wide initiatives and supportive services available to all students.

Support
The Maverick Food Pantry provides support and referral services to students. We can help with the following and more:

Healthy Food Choices
Financial Literacy Information
Seeking Emergency Services
SNAP / WIC Information
Seeking Medical Care
Budget Friendly Recipes

UTA is also close to the Tri-C Food Pantry, an off-campus food pantry run by the Christian Campus Center at UT Arlington.
