A brief description of the sustainable operations and maintenance policy/program and/or O+M rating system(s) used:

Since 2012, all buildings at UTK or UTIA have been required to be constructed and managed in accordance with the Tennessee High Performance Building Requirements (TN HPBr), formerly known as the State of Tennessee Sustainable Design Guidelines. The TN HPBr is a multi-attribute rating system that is comparable to LEED's O+M rating system. It is composed of six major sections: Land Management, Water Efficiency, Energy Efficiency, Materials and Resources, Indoor Environmental Quality, and Innovation in Design and Construction. Although the structure is slightly different, the HPBr contains many of the same requirements in its subsections that LEED does. Please, see the attached copy of the 2021 HPBr Checklist for a comparison to the LEED model.
