UT Compost Facility
A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
The Compost Facility is making huge strides on campus to reduce the amount of organic waste in landfills. Composting is a process that turns organic material into a valuable nutrient-rich soil additive that can be used to fertilize campus gardens and green spaces. In 2021, UT composted over 730 tons of food waste, animal waste, and landscaping debris.
