The institution has a series of "Mini Train" videos on YouTube that all employees have access to which includes an overview of our compost facility.

Any employee can request, through the submission of a proposal, funding through the Green Fee (Student Environmental Initiative Fund) to pursue sustainability related training or professional development. Additionally, Facilities Services hosts sustainability workshops which are attended by various Facilities Services staff members.


A brief description of any external professional development and training opportunities in sustainability that are supported by the institution :

UT sends staff members to Tennessee Association of Physical Plant Administrators (TNAPPA) conferences, which have included breakout sessions on sustainability topics. Southern Sustainable Agriculture Working Group (SSAWG) conference funding is offered for professional development of employees upon request and approval. Additionally, UT has sent Office of Sustainability staff to the annual AASHE conference.
