A brief description of programs, policies, infrastructure investments, outreach efforts, and/or other factors that contributed to the diversion rate for construction and demolition waste:

The University of Tennessee collect reports from the three largest projects. The smaller projects did not submit their data. The University of Tennessee Engineering Building separated their demolition into three categories: Trash, Concrete/brick/CMU, and Scrap Metal. Waste Connections of Tennessee reported the last 17 months from the Student Union Project. The termination of recycling sorting at Poplar View Landfill led Waste Connection of Tennessee trying to divert materials as much as possible. The waste management report from Renascent had a distribution of waste from 99% recycled and 1% disposed to landfill. This data from the three separate reports were analyzed and added together to determine total recycling and diversion to landfill.
