A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:

As a fun closing to RecycleMania, UT Recycling has hosted "Recyclympics" each year since 2010. The event won a 2010 "Recyclers of the Year Award" from the Tennessee Recycling Coalition for best recycling video.

At the 2nd-Annual Recyclympics, 73 UT Knoxville faculty, staff and students participated in 10 recycling-themed games, including "Cap in a Haystack", "Mouseballs", and the "Plastic Bottle Hammer Throw." To encourage a spirited competition, prizes were provided to the best individual and group participants.

Recyclympics also featured an educational component: posters were displayed on the playing field to encourage participants and spectators to reduce, reuse and recycle. Moreover, environmental organizations from campus and the community tabled at the event to draw awareness to the importance of waste reduction.
