A brief description of the methodology used to track and calculate the number of recordable incidents of work-related injury or ill health :
The University of Tasmania uses a cloud-based system known internally as MySafety that all staff and students have access to, to record incidents, hazards and near-misses. The software also has a mobile app called Pocket Safety that has the same functionality for reporting. On a monthly basis, the data is analysed to generate reports providing insight into our performance relating to the total number of injuries, lost time injuries frequency rate, near-miss and hazard reporting rate, and timeliness of incident follow-up.
