A brief description of the methodology used to complete the course inventory :
The total number of courses was obtained from the Academic Division. The Academic Division led a curriculum mapping effort in early 2022, where all course and/or program coordinators were required to classify relevant units as sustainability-focused or sustainability-inclusive (following STARS definitions). A review of the course inventory was conducted by the Sustainability Team.

Courses that were offered at different levels (undergraduate and graduate) were counted separately, however, courses that were offered more than once during the academic year were counted as one.

The number of academic departments is different to credit PRE5 because courses are managed by Schools/Institutes/Centres rather than departments. There are 25 Schools or equivalent at the University of Tasmania, but only 24 offer at least one course (Menzies Institute is a research-only institute that do not offer courses at any level).
