Employee Assistance Program (EAP) (https://www.utas.edu.au/work-health-safety/myhealth/mental-health/counselling-services)
Staff counselling is a 24 hour, 7 day service available to all University employees and their immediate family free of charge under the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). The aim of the service is to provide timely counselling and support to employees who have work or non-work related concerns or issues. Adjunct, clinical and associate title holders, visiting scholars, visiting fellows and honorary title holders are also eligible to access the service.The sessions are completely confidential and no personal or identifying information is forwarded on to the University. Those eligible are entitled to three free standard (1 hour) sessions per calendar year. Employees who wish to receive more than three sessions should contact Work Health and Safety, People and Wellbeing.

Staff Physical Activity Program - Current University of Tasmania employees are invited to apply for 12 free passes to access either specific Unigym classes or access to pool

Students - Personal Counselling (https://www.utas.edu.au/students/shw/counselling)
UTAS counsellors offer confidential and professional counselling to students experiencing a range of academic, mental health and personal concerns including (but not limited to) anxiety, stress, depression, motivational problems and relationship difficulties. Counselors are located in Hobart, Launceston, Burnie, Sydney and well as online. Counselors can also assist with accessing specialist services in the wider community.

The University of Tasmania is a 'smoke free' campus with designated smoking zones; this includes the use of e-cigarettes. There is not a current formal smoke-free policy as this is common practice, but the link provided has a section for "Failure to comply with smoke-free campus policy", which indicates that "security staff undertake regular patrols of each campus. Where an individual is found to be smoking in an area where smoking is prohibited as defined above, they will be asked to cease smoking and will be advised of the requirement to comply with this policy. Failure to comply with this procedure may result in additional action". Additionally, non-compliance can be reported by anyone and addressed by logging a Work Request providing details of the breach.
