Data source(s) and notes about the submission:
Student volunteering number includes students involved in the Vice-Chancellor’s Leadership Program in 2019, and students on a volunteer register that students access through the University's Career Connect system, managed by the Student Leadership, Career Development and Employment team. The volunteer register connects students with volunteering opportunities on and off campus.
Community service hours data was only available for the Vice-Chancellor’s Leadership Program, but not for the volunteers register at the time of submission.
The Student Leadership, Career Development and Employment team are investigating the implementation of a platform which can be utilised University wide, to track hours, organisations and the sustainability goals that staff members and students contribute to the community. This can also then be used to recognise the contribution that people make in a formal manner, while providing information and support about volunteering opportunities available.
Staff volunteering support is stated in the University of Tasmania Staff Agreement 2017-2021
