A brief description of the methodology the institution followed to complete the research inventory:

The University's Research Division used DOIs from publications already mapped to SDGs via Elsevier.
To determine if employees were engaged in sustainability research, the Scopus database was used, selecting UTAS publications between 2017 and 2019 that were affiliated with a Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) in SciVal (a web-based analytics solution that provides comprehensive access to research performance and researchers data). Note that there is a known bias against Humanities disciplines in Scopus. Note also that Scopus does capture most but not all the publications affiliated with the University of Tasmania.
Employees and academic departments numbers include only staff/departments that are currently engaged in research and are part of the main academic colleges.
