A brief description of the sustainability-focused immersive program(s) offered by the institution:

The University of Tasmania offers several sustainability-focused immersive experience programs to support students in their studies by developing practical skills.
Some examples include:
- Environmental and Cultural Conservation: 2-week field trip to Indonesia that examines, from an Indonesian perspective, issues such as deforestation, environmental change, urban development and displacement of marginalised communities (https://www.utas.edu.au/global-engagement/student-mobility/outbound/the-new-colombo-plan/indonesia-field-trip).
- Marine Ecology (as part of the Bachelor of Marine and Antarctic Science): The major part of the practical component is a high-level research project conducted during a visit to Maria Island for a whole week; attendance on the field trip is mandatory for the course (https://www.utas.edu.au/courses/cse/units/ksm308-marine-ecology).
- An Unparalleled Learning Experience. Tropical Biodiversity and Sustainable Tropical Agriculture Systems: 2-4 weeks in Sri Lanka (https://www.utas.edu.au/global-engagement/student-mobility/outbound/the-new-colombo-plan)
- Agritecture: Connecting culture and tradition through bamboo architecture + agriculture: 2-4 weeks in Vietnam/Cambodia (https://www.utas.edu.au/global-engagement/student-mobility/outbound/the-new-colombo-plan)
