A brief description of the sustainable operations and maintenance policy/program and/or O+M rating system(s) used:
75 Buildings fall under the requirement of the University's sustainable operations and maintenance program. Under Energy Management. The following conditions apply:
The Contractor must actively participate in University of Sydney programs for the conservation of energy at the University.
• The following activities the Contractor will undertake to assist the level of energy consumption at the University:
• Advice on equipment used at the University which is not considered to be energy efficient by current standards as identified by the Contractor, and which may be considered for replacement by University of Sydney
• Advice on building management and HVAC management systems logic which will lead to energy savings when implemented
• Identification of motors where VSD installation will provide quantifiable savings. This includes equipment such as pumps, fans and compressors. Potential efficiency checks which may be implemented as part of the preventive maintenance strategies for this class of equipment are also included.
• Reduction of load on fans by cleaning and filter management programs
• Chiller maintenance improvements including monitoring of chillers. and its impact on energy efficiency
• Specification of an energy auditing process of equipment under the Scope of Works
• Tuning of systems, time clock adjustments (including review of operation times to ensure no unnecessary operation takes place), switching off appropriate HVAC plant and lighting during holiday periods.
• Investigation of high utilities usages that are identified by the University.
• Provide energy savings initiatives\projects with quantifiable savings to be undertaken by the University
