A brief description of the institution’s community garden:
The University's Community Garden (currently closed due to COVID restrictions) is located on an old greenhouse research site on our Darlington Campus. The site was repurposed to provide university and external community garden access. The community garden also enables organics and green waste composting and have previously ran 'how-to' demonstrations.

KITCHEN GARDENS
The Regiment Building, a new campus-based student residence building opening in 2019, has 5 kitchen gardens on its split level rooftop terraces. The kitchen gardens contain many herbs and non-root vegetables such as saltbush, mint etc. for students to use in the residence self-catering kitchens.

FOOD COOP
The University also house a non-profit, volunteer run food cooperative, whose aim is to provide affordable, organic, local food in bulk, as well as weekly organic fruit and vegetable boxes. Food is sourced within 50km of the University and supports the University aim of zero-use plastics by providing items in glass or as a BYO container set-up.
