A brief description of the food bank, pantry, or equivalent resource:
The University of St. Thomas partners with Keystone Community Services on a Tommie Shelf food pantry, which started in 2019. Tommie Shelf is a monthly mobile food program that serves students and the campus community on the first Tuesday of the month. The university also collects food to donate back to our partner Keystone as part of our partnership. The Dean of Students also offers food credits for students to get free meals on campus.
Key accomplishments during academic year 2019 - 2020 include:
- Collected 3,693lbs of food and $2,498.35, which were donated to Keystone Community Services
- Served a total of 484 individuals throughout the year, averaging 40 unique individuals per month through the Tommie Shelf Food Mobile
- Collected 420 donated guest meals for the Meal Bank
