A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:

During new employee orientation, the Associate Vice President of Human Resources shares the strategic priorities that emerged from the University’s strategic planning process and then discusses the President’s statement on sustainability and how sustainability is integrated into investment/finance, facilities, transportation, procurement, academics, student engagement, employee engagement, and the university's mission.

In the online tool that is being developed and will be provided to new hires in the near future, there is a section around the University’s commitment to sustainability as well as a link to the University’s Sustainability Strategic Plan.

Staff from the Office of Sustainability Initiatives also present annually at new faculty orientation. The session addresses the university's sustainability goals, sustainability strategic plan, initiatives, and resources available to faculty to integrate sustainability into their courses.
