STUDENTS The University of St. Thomas offers a variety of counseling, referral, and wellbeing services available to students through the following entities: Health Services https://stthomas.edu/healthservices/ Counseling and Psychological Services Office https://stthomas.edu/counseling/ Wellness Center https://stthomas.edu/wellness/ EMPLOYEES The University of St. Thomas offers a variety of counseling, referral, and wellbeing services to employees through the following programs: - Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Vitality and Learn to Live are provided at no cost to employees. EAP provides cost-free professional consultation and referral services for staff and faculty who are experiencing work and personal-related difficulties. Immediate family members are also eligible for EAP services. EAP provides up to 5 counseling sessions per topic. Services include confidential emotional support, work/life solutions, legal guidance, financial resources, and an online library. It also provides simple will preparation services. - Learn-to-Live focuses on mental or behavioral issues and is based on the principles of cognitive behavioral therapy. Employees go online to access the programs and tools that address topics like social anxiety, depression, insomnia and stress, among others. - Vitality is an interactive, web-based program which allows employees to set goals and individualized wellness plans, complete health screenings, participate in events, track workouts and complete short wellness courses to earn points, which convert to Vitality bucks that can then be used to purchases fitness devices, gift cards, and many more from the Vitality mall. - The Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex (AARC) is free to all faculty and staff of both campuses. Each time the employee swipes his or her St. Thomas ID card in the AARC, the swipe is recognized by Vitality as a gym visit and the employee earns points. Also under the university's medical plan, if a covered employee visits a participating gym at least eight times per month, the employee will receive $20 to help pay for the gym’s membership dues. This can be $40 if spouse is also enrolled in the university's medical plan and visits the gym eight times per month as well. Additional information for employees is available from the Benefits webpage, which requires a login. Flyers that describe the programs and access information are also provided upon hire and available from the Benefits Office year-round. Reminders and promotions are announced several times during the year.
