Does the institution offer at least one immersive, sustainability-focused educational study program that is one week or more in length?:
Yes

A brief description of the sustainability-focused immersive program(s) offered by the institution, including how each program addresses the social, economic, and environmental dimensions of sustainability:
Applied bio-cultural field school in Costa Rica in the Anthropology Program: This is a five-week summer research program held in conjunction with the Monteverde Institute www.mvinstitute.org, a non-profit educational and research organization that works in partnership with universities around the world. The field school provides training in qualitative and quantitative methods for applied anthropology and health disciplines. The experience allows participants to explore the changing face of health and healthcare in communities undergoing rapid social, cultural and economic change associated with globalization. Research topics include nutrition/food security, HIV/AIDS, occupational risks among farm workers, and reproductive health. The field school is open to graduate students and to exceptional undergraduates at the senior level. The field school is not offered every year, but opportunities also exist for students to take up research internships with the Monteverde Institute.
