USF Dining places identifiers throughout the dining halls that label locally-grown and locally-produced items, as well as Monterrey Bay Seafood items. USF Dining also utilizes Fresh Point’s Meet the Farmers Bios for display at stations throughout the dining halls. Various retail locations on campus also participate in Meatless Mondays in which Students receive $1 off vegan and vegetarian grab & go items.

While attending orientation, students eat at the Fresh Food Company, and they are informed of the reusable to-go containers that USF Dining offers at each dining hall. They are also educated on the trayless dining, which saves 32,992 gallons of water per academic year.

Students visit our Healthy for Life and Sustainability pages – http://www.campusdish.com/en-US/CSS/UnivSouthFlorida/Sustainability/ – to learn more information about making eco-positive food choices.
Each fall the Faculty in Residence educates students on the farm-to-fork process and other food topics. In addition to showing documentaries and inviting local farms to talk with students, a field trip is organized to encourage students to learn about local food issues. Students are also informed about the community garden at the USF Botanical Garden and are encouraged to participate.
