The University Libraries and Office of the Vice President for Research sponsor an Open Access Fund to offset the cost of article processing charges for works published in fully open access journals. This initiative began in Fall 2019. Additionally, the Libraries provide a repository to archive student and faculty research and to host open access journals. This repository was started in 2010 using the Digital Commons software offered by bepress.

A brief description of how the institution’s library(ies) support open access to research:
The University Libraries host an open access repository, Scholar Commons, and encourage faculty to submit their research to make it openly available. The Libraries also support the creation and management of several open access journals. Additionally, the Libraries offer online guides and workshops to provide education to the campus community on open access and sponsor an annual Open Access Week.
