A brief summary of the climate plan’s long-term goals:
The campus will utilize the Climate Change group and Environmental Advisory Committee structure to follow the procedures identified in the CAP. The Climate Change group will identify and evaluate projects and actions that not only support the current Energy Conservation Plan for the campus but also utilizes the portfolio approach to rank and prioritize GHG mitigation opportunities based on $/MTCO2e. The ranking and prioritizing process will include participation from the Budget & Planning Office to integrate projects into future budgets. Annual project lists will be required to obtain approval by the Board of Trustees as part of the annual budget process. Additionally, the Climate Change group will be updating the current CAP regularly after the annual Campus Earth Summits to reflect new strategies identified during that event. The group will also update its one and five year plan goals and objectives. Upon updating the CAP it will be presented to the President for final approval and signature. The Master Plan is currently under review to identify the necessary requirements to update the plan and incorporate climate change impacts and sustainability requirements.
