A brief description of how the institution ensures compliance with sustainable building operation and maintenance guidelines and policies:
All new and major renovation projects follow the campus sustainable design guidelines initially. State Law requires all the buildings to monitor and report their performance annually and to recommission the every five years. These requirements help address specific aspects related to the building operation such as HVAC, Lighting and water. Additionally, all maintenance staff are trained on the building and sustainability requirements prior to opening. Other aspects are covered under seperate policies and training programs such as the green cleaning policy. The University is still designing a program to implement LEED O&M on a broader effort.
