UoS is committed to creating a just and fair work environment in order to promote UoS as an Employer of Choice and enhance employee engagement and dedication. UoS will exercise the following:

1. Treat all employees equally with the utmost respect and without discrimination, as well as encourage employees and promote positive competition between them in order to reinforce mutual trust.
2. Provide employees with equal opportunities when filling high positions, to promote a sense of belonging and loyalty to the country, the emirate, and the university.
3 Discrimination is the act of making the unjustified distinctions between human beings on the basis of gender, age, religion, nationality, or ethnicity. The HR practices of UoS are based on providing equal treatment to current and potential employees. A comprehensive and transparent assessment and selection process based on merit, competence and capabilities is implemented to support UoS’s commitment to equal employment opportunities.
4. UoS is committed to recruiting People of Determination and providing them with equal opportunities, as well as enabling them to perform their roles safely and effectively.
5. Employees must treat People with Determination respectfully and as equals, and avoid any special treatment that might cause them embarrassment or discomfort.

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University of Sharjah, has always been keen on promoting the Emirate of Sharjah's stature in the field of knowledge and culture. He has exerted significant and purposeful efforts in creating a cultural environment appropriate for citizens from various nations. His Highness has always been aware of the role of people with disabilities; therefore, they are engaged in the continuing development process.
His Center established guidance and integration policies to ensure providing educational opportunities within a competitive environment, where all students are treated equally. The Center has also created a comprehensive system attending to every individual stage, from the process of admission and registration to graduation and career advice.

The Sustainability Office has a circle related to disabled people (People with disability Sustainability Circle).
A group of people from the University of Sharjah (Faculty, staff and students) has been trained on World Disability Union Environmental Standards Course for People of Disabilities to become specialists in terms of assessing and evaluating the buildings for universal access.
This course has been offered to all UOS communities to raise awareness about universal access. The course was free.
