The Social Services Department is a local government institution affiliated with the government of the Emirate of Sharjah. The department was established on August 1984, 22 AD, but its actual appearance dates back to November 1995, 9 when the Emiri Decree No. (1995) of XNUMX was issued. Social Affairs is part of the government of Sharjah, and a fundamental supplement to its efforts in the humanitarian community. The department is specialized in providing monthly social assistance to eligible people, establishing shelters for those who lose social welfare, and providing home care and protection services for the vulnerable

Social security is provided to support and enable needy families with low incomes to reach them to an adequate standard of living, enabling them to live in dignity and independence

Welfare and social protection

The department works through its concerned departments to contain, care and protect the disadvantaged through accommodation services provided to the social welfare inspectors of all age groups.

The department contributes, through community service, to the organization of the social service sector in the emirate and working to raise the level of awareness, social education, and volunteer work for all members
