1st program
Work Green Sustainability Champions Program
A brief description of the employee educators program (1st program):
Sustainability Champions sign-up to lead sustainability initiatives in their workplace. Each champion completes a Work Green certification checklist. On a monthly basis, champions receive a newsletter including information and links to resources or ideas for engaging colleagues. Quarterly meetings allow champions to share successes and challenges. Annual awards recognize achievements. Champions lead initiatives in their workplace such as promoting energy conservation month or leading waste-free coffee challenges. Champions are also able to go the extra distance by taking on unique projects with the Office to tackle specific issues on campus through extended and strategic engagement efforts (e.g. developing a campus-wide behaviour change strategy to reduce disposable coffee cup use).

The target audience for Work Green are any and all USask employees, though we try to perform extra recruitment in units that do not currently have a representative.
