Does the institution have policies and/or guidelines in place to improve outdoor air quality and minimize air pollutant emissions from mobile sources on campus?:
A brief description of the policies and/or guidelines to improve outdoor air quality and minimize air pollutant emissions from mobile sources:
We ensure that work/research is conducted within the applicable environmental regulations. Also, we have anti-idling/idle free zones across campus and at loading dock areas. We have proper maintenance to ensure fleet vehicles operate at maximum efficiency and purchasing the most efficient vehicles possible for fleet renewal.
Has the institution completed an inventory of significant air emissions from stationary campus sources or else verified that no such emissions are produced?:
Weight of the following categories of air emissions from stationary sources::
|Weight of Emissions|
|Nitrogen oxides (NOx)||62.23 Tonnes|
|Sulfur oxides (SOx)||---|
|Carbon monoxide (CO)||38.56 Tonnes|
|Particulate matter (PM)||0.34 Tonnes|
|Hazardous air pollutants (HAPs)||---|
|Ozone-depleting compounds (ODCs)||---|
|Other standard categories of air emissions identified in permits and/or regulations||---|
A brief description of the methodology(ies) the institution used to complete its air emissions inventory:
Data is collected throughout the year for natural gas and diesel consumption. Applicable emissions are reported through the National Pollutant Release Inventory managed by Environment Canada.
