A brief description of the institution’s main campus and other aspects of the institutional boundary used to complete this report:

The University of Saskatchewan owns 1,865 acres of land located within the boundaries of the City of Saskatoon. Vision 2057, a land-use planning report, identifies and designates these lands by current and future use.

This STARS report includes the 1,865 acres of located within the boundaries of the City of Saskatoon and described in Vision 2057. The boundaries of this land are roughly 14th Street to the south, Central Avenue and Circle Drive to the east, just north of Garvie Road to the north and the South Saskatchewan River to the west.

This area includes the core academic campus and related uses, such as student residences and athletic facilities. It also includes land to support the University's agricultural, teaching and research needs.

Which of the following features are present on campus and which are included within the institutional boundary?:
Present? Included?
Agricultural school Yes Yes
Medical school Yes Yes
Other professional school with labs and clinics (e.g. dental, nursing, pharmacy, public health, veterinary) Yes Yes
Satellite campus Yes No
Farm larger than 5 acres or 2 hectares Yes Yes
Agricultural experiment station larger than 5 acres or 2 hectares Yes Yes
Hospital Yes No

The rationale for excluding any features that are present from the institutional boundary:

Although the hospital is on university land, it is owned and managed by the Saskatchewan Health Region. The University of Saskatchewan has no operational control over it and it is occupied by employees of the Health Region.

Satellite campuses are in leased spaces which are managed and operated by the owner of the space, so the University of Saskatchewan has no operational control over those spaces.
