Librarians and archivists agree to deposit the output of our scholarly activities in eCommons@USASK, subject to copyright restrictions. This commitment applies to all forms of published scholarly work produced from the date of
adoption, including:
a) books/book chapters
b) journal articles
c) conference proceedings
d) reviews
Deposit of material published prior to adoption of this commitment, and of other forms of scholarly work such as substantial presentations or reports, is encouraged.
University of Saskatchewan librarians and archivists will also make a conscientious effort to publish in open access venues, where possible.

Options for financial support for open access include:
• Publications Fund from University of Saskatchewan Research Services: Up to $1000, and possibly $1500, per faculty member/year..
• NRC Research Press (Canadian Science Publishing): U of S authors publishing in NRC journals are eligible for a reduced fee of $1500 per article for the OpenArticle option.
• BioMed Central: The University Library pays a membership to BioMed Central; U of S authors receive a 15% discount on APCs.
• Royal Society of Chemistry: U of S authors publishing in an RSC journal can make their article OA for free. The RSC has provided the University Library with a limited number of vouchers for this purpose.
