The University of Saskatchewan conducts surveys of both the
Canadian Undergraduate Survey Consortium (CUSC) and the Canadian Graduate and Professional Student Survey on a cyclical basis, both of which collect demographic information, As well, aboriginal students attending the U of S are encouraged to self-declare.

The most recent data is from 2013. A survey synthesis with consolidated data from 10 years of university-wide surveys was developed to provide an “at-a-glance” overview of the data available. It is updated in advance of each institutional plan every four years and is used to inform planning.

A brief description of the employee diversity and employment equity assessment(s):

The annual Employee Opinion Survey invites employees to share their experiences as an employee. The survey includes self-identification in targeted groups including aboriginal, visible minority, disability, LGBTT2Q. (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, two-spirit and queer). Aggregated results provide employee feedback to Human Resources and Senior Administration, which informs decisions in a variety of areas.

A number of initiatives have been undertaken to respond to needs identified through these surveys, including a diversity day that focused on education and celebration of diversity on campus and highlighted the importance of work/life balance.
