A brief description of the methodology the institution followed to complete the research inventory:

The University of Saskatchewan is in the process of implementing UnivRS, an online suite of tools for faculty researchers and support staff to manage research documentation and funds. UnivRS was launched by Office of the Vice-President Research and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in 2013. UnivRS will include a mandatory field in the project records entitled ‘Sustainability Project’ based on the U of S definition of sustainability research, as well as a searchable list of keywords. UnivRS will enable the extraction of reports on a regular basis. It is expected that a rolling deployment will be initiated in 2015.

A brief description of notable accomplishments during the previous three years by faculty and/or staff engaged in sustainability research:

The Sustainability Education Research Institute is a collaborative, innovative, and internationally-linked institute that houses faculty, postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, staff, and other partners conducting research on environment and sustainability in relation to education. One of SERI’s major projects is the Sustainability and Education Policy Network (SEPN), an international research-based partnership focusing on the gap between sustainability policy and practice in education.
