Sparked by the creation of the University’s Sustainability Plan, a Sustainability Office was created to serve as the central hub for coordinating and advising on institution-wide sustainability efforts and initiatives. The Sustainability Office collaborate with units, schools, and offices across all of the University’s campuses, as well as with community partners and organizations. Housed in University Facilities and Services, the office plans, implements, and communicates sustainability initiatives to reduce resource consumption and the University’s overall carbon footprint. The Sustianability Office is charged with overseeing the implementation of the University’s Sustainability Plan.
Shortly after the office was created, a major rehaul of the University's sustainability webpage was conducted to create an online space to showcase the many programs, departments and efforts that work towards a more sustainable campus. See https://www.rochester.edu/sustainability/
