1st program
Green Reps
A brief description of the employee educators program (1st program):
Green Reps are individuals from across the entire University who are interested in sustainability. They can serve as advocates in their department/office, attend quarterly events, and/or simply sign up to receive our newsletter. Some examples of the events include a Blind Date with a Book exchange, an annual sustainable cooking class, and a tour of the local landfill. Green Reps receive training through the quarterly events and weekly newsletter containing ideas, tips, and tools on how to educate their peers and how to encourage sustainable behaviors within their department.
A brief description of the employee educators program’s target audience (1st program):
Green Reps target audience is their coworkers within their department. As the University is large and decentralized, things can be different from one department to the next. Green Reps are challenged to implement change within their department in ways that are meaningful on a departmental level.

Bike Education Program
A brief description of the employee educators program (2nd program):
Our Bike Educator is a League Certified Instructor, certified by the League of American Bicyclists. This instructor teaches bike education classes in order to educate people on topics of bike commuting.

Employees who are interested in trying bike commuting but are feeling the need to learn more about safety, equipment, and techniques before trying it out.
Course Descriptions:
Safe Cycling
Biking can be a great way to advance your health and wellness, but it’s also a practical and fun way to get around. This class will develop the confidence and competence of both the beginner bicyclist and avid rider. Learning about choosing a bicycle, essential equipment, and how to ride safely and comfortably in various traffic scenarios. You will also learn that bicycling doesn’t require lots of technical gear, intense physical training, or a “hardcore” mentality. Safe cycling is something anyone can do! How to Fix a Flat and Other Bike Maintenance Basics If you’ve ever wondered how to fix your own flat tire, we’ll go through it step by step. You’ll also have hands-on time to learn how to check your brakes, gears, and chains to be sure you’re safe to ride!
Learn to Ride
Biking is a very popular activity right now! Join this class if you’ve ever wanted to learn how to ride as an adult, or if you have a child you would like to teach to ride. We will cover the steps to practice and get you on two wheels in no time.
Winter Cycling
We hope you continue riding into the colder months! Here we will talk about great tips to keep you warm, dry, and safe biking in winter.
