University of Richmond has participated in in the Great Colleges to Work For survey four times, in 2010, 2015, 2018, and 2024. The Great Colleges to Work For program is one of the largest and most respected workplace recognition programs in the country. Vital employee feedback helps us celebrate what’s going well and identify areas for improvement as we strive to make our workplace one where every Spider can flourish and feel as though they belong in our web. All full-time staff and faculty were invited to participate in the survey. The University received Honorable Roll in 2024.
In 2021, we administered the Higher Education Resource Institute (HERI) surveys to students (diverse learners survey), staff, and faculty to continue to assess UR’s overall campus climate.
A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation:
For the Great Colleges to Work For survey, HR shares data with leaders across the University. They present breakdowns by area and provide assistnace in communicating results with the teams. Overall results are presented at various events. Manager are encouraged to share data with their teams and develop strategies to address issues identified in the evaluations.
For the HERI, initial results were presented to the President’s Cabinet (senior leadership team). After completed HERI results are released, senior leaders analyzed results, established actions, and shared results with the campus community.
