A brief description of how the employee educators are selected (1st program):

The University of Richmond Sustainability Advocates (URSA) is a staff group that grew out of the Green Office Program. This group meets monthly to learn about various aspects of sustainability from transportation to waste management to city of Richmond initiatives. They then share this information with their own departments/offices.


A brief description of the formal training that the employee educators receive (1st program):

Participants in URSA receive information and materials to pass on from guest speakers or from the Office for Sustainability.


A brief description of the staff and/or other financial support the institution provides to the program (1st program):

The Office for Sustainability provides refreshments at the monthly meetings and funding for any materials to be distributed through the program. This group is instituting a new zero waste initiative. The Office for Sustainability is partnering with Events, Conferences & Support Services to provide resources for that initiative.
