Dr. Dena McMartin in the Faculty of Engineering has two courses, ENEV 320 (Introduction to Environmental Engineering) and ENEV 422 (Solid and Hazardous Waste Management). She has conducted specific group projects in this area including projects on curb-side composting in Regina and a waste audit of the University of Regina.

The University of Regina is working with external communities and RCE Saskatchewan (www.saskrce.ca) to develop living laboratories through eco-museums. 5 communities are being advanced including Katepwa/Calling Lakes, Val Marie, North Central Regina, Nipawin, and Wolseley. Communities are focusing on different issues including water, forestry, heritage, and health.
The University of Regina has hosted two events on living laboratories, including a day-long event on May 8, 2014, (see http://www.uregina.ca/fm/events/2014/05/Living-Labs-and-Ecomuseums.html) and a morning presentation on September 26, 2014. Both events included presentations by Dr. John Robinson of the University of British Columbia.
