UQ has several diversity and equity committees at all levels of the organisation. The most senior committee is The Senate Committee for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion which covers both staff and student issues. Each Faculty, and many schools and institutes, Institute also have an Equity and Diversity Committee which considers both staff and student diversity.

All staff (both academic and non-academic) complete mandatory Equity Training during induction and then after every two years of employment. Information about the training can be found here:

In addition to Equal Opportunity online training, a variety of training packages have been developed and delivered to UQ staff to enhance their skills and knowledge of diversity, inclusion and support. These programs are developed and delivered by Student Services and Human Resources, with training records kept, these include:

• Skills for Suicide Prevention
• Autism in the university context
• Managing a diverse team
• Staff disability inclusion workshop

• Managing Unconscious Bias
• Cultural Competency
• Mentor leadership training for students
• Library accessibility and study hacks module
