A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting:
UQ's most recent transport study was undertaken during semester 2 2018. Data was gathered from field counts, GoCard data (Brisbane City's public transport system's electronic ticketing system) and from a University-wide survey. The study is undertaken to inform future transport and campus planning as well as understand sustainable transport activities. Pnuematic traffic counters at main entry points, field counts on all pedestrian entry points, Translink GoCard data for bus and ferry arrivals as well as bidirectional infrared counters.
