In accordance with the University’s mission and values, best practice fleet management strives to ensure that vehicles are not only fit for purpose, but that environmental impacts through emissions are minimised. For the last decade this has led to a multi – pronged approach which has included :
Replacing six cylinder engine vehicles with smaller four cylinder variants
Introducing Hybrid and electric vehicles to the shared pool fleet
Purchasing a plug-in Hybrid for a Science centre
Purchasing fully electric vehicles for Maintenance, Security and Parking operations
Introducing car sharing on Campuses.
