Part 1. Greenhouse gas emissions inventory
Yes
A copy of the most recent GHG emissions inventory:
A brief description of the methodology and/or tool used to complete the GHG emissions inventory:
The University of Queensland (UQ) has completed an inventory to quantify Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for the 2018/19 financial year. UQ has completed and reported to regulators greenhouse gas emissions annually since 2010/11.
UQ is required to submit annual GHG emissions report consistent with Commonwealth legislation, The National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act 2007 (NGER Act). Data is submitted to the Clean Energy Regulator via an online portal (Emissions and Energy Reporting EERS) and the report is verified by the regulator. The regulator should be considered to be an independent, external third party.
The National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act 2007 (NGER Act) introduced a single national framework for reporting and disseminating company information about greenhouse gas emissions, energy production and energy consumption.
There are multiple documents and methods developed by the Clean Energy Regulator that describes the methods for assessment and verification processes.
The methodology for reporting is comprehensive and updated annually as detailed by the NGERs Act. Data collation and aggregation is conducted internally.

UQ prepares an annual Basis of Preparation Report that describes the internal process.

Has the GHG emissions inventory been validated internally by personnel who are independent of the GHG accounting and reporting process and/or verified by an independent, external third party?:
Yes
A brief description of the GHG inventory verification process:
UQs data is independently validated by the Australian Government Clean Energy Regulator

None
A brief description of the methodology(ies) the institution used to complete its air emissions inventory:
UQ does not have any stack or air pollutant emissions. We don’t have boiler rooms for heating that create air emissions. We do not have a waste incinerator. That is included in Scope 1 other (mobile combustion, process and fugitive emissions).

Data source(s) and notes about the submission:
Note UQ uses the NGERS methodology for calculating scope 2 emissions which is a location based method.
