Environmental Management is the planning and implementation of actions geared to improve the quality of the human environment.
The postgraduate programs in environmental management at the University of Queensland are multidisciplinary programs designed to enhance the skills and technical expertise of graduates working in all facets of the environmental arena. The programs aim to produce managers able to address the many issues in the highly complex and changing area of environmental management.

This program is designed to address complex problems across disciplines and equip you with the knowledge and skills to progress to leadership positions in the energy sector.
Local, regional, national and global energy systems are studied through a multi-disciplinary and integrated approach, to develop a deep understanding of the key drivers of change – risk, sustainability and responsible business practices.
Management courses are undertaken from the first semester at an advanced level to focus on enhanced management, research and communication skills.

This program provides a comprehensive education in the ecosystems and evolutionary potential of the world's flora and fauna.
The program includes structured blocks of fieldwork from world-class researchers and teachers.
High-level coursework covers all aspects of biodiversity and conservation, environmental philosophy, national and international conservation policy, and systematic conservation decision-making processes.
Valuable hands-on experience is gained enabling students to apply their knowledge on field trips to subtropical rainforests, national parks, outback Australia, nature reserves and UQ's Heron Island and Moreton Bay research stations.

The Sustainable Energy field of study caters to students seeking knowledge and application of innovative solutions to the energy grand challenges facing organisations and society. Options available in this field of study include sustainable energy and climate change theory, which will introduce the language of energy and establish foundational knowledge of available sustainable energy technologies and global sustainability. Students will then progress from theory to practice, with options to conduct sustainability analyses of real-life organisations, assess and present solutions to the energy challenges of an Australian community and to engage in problem-based learning (PBL) to perform strategic analyses of organisations in energy industries and systems.
