A brief description of the programs sponsored by the institution to support underrepresented groups within the student body:
The Student Diversity Center promotes development of programs that honor the wide range of students' ethnicities, races, genders, religions, and sexual orientations; collaboration among student groups; and integration of students into the campus learning community. The Student Diversity Center conducts student-directed activities featuring groups that historically have been under-represented in higher education and/or at the University of Puget Sound. All students at Puget Sound are welcome to participate in Center-sponsored activities.
The Student Diversity Center has several student affinity groups under its umbrella. Groups include the Black Student Union, Asain Pacific American Student Union, Bisexual Gay Lesbian and Allies for Diversity, Native American Student Association, and Students For Choice.

There are informal mentoring relationships for faculty. The university is currently investigating creating formalized programs similar to those offered for students.
