Does the institution have a program to reduce residence hall move-out waste?:
Yes
None
A brief description of the program:
The university has a program to minimize the amount of materials that enter the waste stream. Facilities Services recycling staff order extra commingled recycling bins for each major residence hall. Bins are emptied and replaced as they fill. Signs are located around campus directing students toward the recycling locations. We also partner with the Goodwill, which sets up donation sites on campus for all materials that can be reused and resold in their outlet stores. This includes working appliances, furniture, carpets, etc. This diverts substantial amounts of materials from the waste stream.
