A brief description of the program:
Science departments are located in the same building, which was designed and renovated within the last four years to foster close and continuous interaction among departments. Chemicals are shared as a practice among Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Geology Departments through an informal process where faculty and storeroom staff from these departments communicate with one another when one department needs a chemical that might exist in another department's inventory. Faculty or storeroom staff contact the other department (primarily storeroom staff) to request and/or access a needed chemical before ordering from outside the university. As a smaller institution, this has served as an effective practice that does not require significant procedures.
