A brief description of programs, policies, infrastructure investments, outreach efforts, and/or other factors that contribute to the diversion rate for construction and demolition waste:
Under our sustainability mission and for LEED Program Certification, the Facilities Services Department recycles most construction and demolition waste for major construction projects. The above tonnage is the most recent quantity related to the 2011 construction of Weyerhaeuser Hall. During the 2009 new Facilities Services Complex construction, the university recycled over 95% of project waste.
