A brief description of the pre-consumer food waste composting program:
We currently have a pre- and post-consumer composting program for waste generated by multiple university residences. Compostable items are collected and composted at a central site. In addition, the Environmental Sciences department completed a project in collaboration with Dining Services to address additional composting. We are planning to implement expanded composting or waste digestion in conjunction with a 2013 dining facility renovation.
