A brief description of the sustainable food and beverage purchasing program:
Puget Sound Dining Services is strongly committed to sourcing and offering food and beverages that are certified as local and/or sustainably grown, harvested, produced and processed. We work with all our vendors - both national and independent - to continually source new options promoting this goal.
Dining and Conference Services currently is partnering with a student group to participate in the “Real Food Challenge” to enhance dining by cutting costs and increasing local food purchasing.
In addition, we also are embarking on a Farm to Table program in which we are connecting with local farmers to bring local products to campus. We will highlight local farm products and demonstrate ways products can be prepared as part of various meals.
